Preliminary discussions between Austral Group S.A.A. and Bertin S.A of Brazil

Austral Group S.A.A. (Austral), a subsidiary of Austevoll Seafood ASA (AUSS) has commenced preliminary discussions with Bertin S.A. (Bertin) of Brazil in respect of a possible investment by Bertin in Conservera de las Americas S.A. (Conservera), a wholly owned subsidiary of Austral with a production facility in Paita in northern Peru.

Bertin is a large Brazilian conglomerate with several main business divisions, including Agriculture and Food. Bertin is also engaged in the production and sales of canned fish in the international market.
